An active soul, is a healthy soul

Mauri is the energy that gives us life (ora). According to the pūrākau, Tāne created Hineahuone out of the red clay at Kurawaka. He breathed life into her and she sneezed with the proclamation, tihei mauri ora! 

There are many ways to manaaki your mauri, the Maramataka helps us understand more about our own hauora as it can indicate high energy and low energy days. The Maramataka can teach us how to balance a busy life and when it might be the best time to be active and productive, and on other days when we should take a break and rest. 

These taonga are a reflection of our thoughts related to mauri and wellbeing. Proceeds from the Mauri Ora Collection are donated to I Am Hope to support counselling services for rangatahi and education on mental health.
